A cataclysmic event has taken place, evoking panic and chaos in the streets of the puritanical mountain enclave of Shadow’s Haven. Swirling vortexes have filled the darkening skies. Townspeople are disappearing, and buildings are transfiguring right before the survivor’s eyes. It’s complete pandemonium.
 
No one knows what brought about these horrific events...

To the west, an explosion has taken place in a hidden, underground laboratory, obliterating it, and releasing this other-worldly insanity. At the heart of the blast:
