As a musician, writer, and convention personality, Matt Knowles (Aka: #TopHatMatt) has dipped his toes into many different creative pools over the years. He is no stranger to being in the public eye, having fronted metal bands, is a panel host / convention emcee, and is also the in stadium P.A. announcer for multiple pro/semi-pro soccer teams (including being the current voice of the USL League 2 side BRAVE SC (fka THE VILLAGES SC)).
Matt's first foray into the non-lyrical writing and creating world was the e-book version of HEIRS OF ISILDUR - THE CROSSROADS CONUNDRUM which begat the illustrated novel / comic of the same name. That arc saw 11 individual issues that were then reformatted / reenvisioned into a 268 page graphic novel.
The HEIRS OF ISILDUR one-shot NIGHTMARE SCENARIO, the most recently completed arc THE PERILOUS PROSPECTS, and their current title: the swashbuckling, high seas adventure TATSUMI: THE SERPENT MISTRESS, have KNOWLES as the head writer, with #TeamINSYM partner STEPH CANNON as the assistant writer and editor. These are in traditional comic / mini-graphic novel format.
The pair are also the creators and writers of medieval fantasy series TALES FROM NOCTURNIA, the all-ages short story series MISFITZ CLUBHOUSE, the fictional FAR EAST graphic novel I AM QIDO.
Matt is also the mad scientist behind INSYM's musical side, birthing two full length albums: HEIRS OF ISILDUR - THE CROSSROADS CONUNDRUM and HEIRS OF ISILDUR vs TALES FROM NOCTURNIA into existence, alongside multiple other singles.
Matt is also building a resume as a Convention HOST /EMCEE, panel moderator, and cosplay contest host! (Click HERE to learn more about this and see the full list of events he's done hosting at).
He is a podcast personality for the monthly show INK FORGED OPINIONS, and has been featured on the CFBDynasty.Com college fantasy football podcast, as well as conducting guest interviews / guest hosting for the MidwestMetalShow.Com, The Jay Wendell Show & Sounds of the Apocalypse (Rock Rage Radio), and even once guest hosted the HONEST BRUTALITY game show.
Matt also serves as the editor / proofer for all movie reviews, articles, and columns written by Steph Cannon.
